“He is not here For He is risen as he said.” Matthew 28:6 says that an angel was testifying these words to the women who came to see the body of Jesus. He is risen from the dead and is not here. Let us not search for our King anymore in the tomb. For the tomb is already empty. Death could not hold our King. Hallelujah!
God’s purpose of sending His Only begotten Son Jesus was fullfilled when He cried out from the cross saying “It is finished” as mentioned in John 19:30. The restoration of mankind was completed and the mankind is given free access to the the throne of Grace. Hebrews 4:16 says, “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”
Matthew 28:9 says, “Behold, Jesus met them, saying, “Rejoice!”…” His resurrection gives us joy. Apostle Paul experienced this truth and that is why he emphazised this in his letters to the church in phillipi and thessalonica. He says in Philipians 4:4, “Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!” and in 1Thessalonians 5:16, “Rejoice always.” Because of the hope that we have through the resurrection of Our Lord, lets rejoice in Him at all times.
Matthew 28:10 says,”Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid”…” The resurrection of Jesus removes our fear. Lets not be afraid of our future or be shaken by the problems that we face in our lives, for our Almighty God is in perfect control of our lives. Where there is faith, there is no fear. So, be it life or death let us trust in the Lord at all times.
During the birth of Jesus, an angel says in Luke 2:10,“Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people.” How amazing it is to know that HE is so mindful of us that He doesn’t want us to fear but to rejoice always. 1Peter 1:3 says, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” Let us leave everything that bothers us in His feet and stay rest assured of the living hope we have in God through the resurrection of our Lord and Saviour Jesus christ.
