Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you. Genesis 22:5

God commanded Abraham to take His son Isaac to the land of Moriah and offer him there as a burnt offering. Abraham obeyed the voice of the Lord and took Isaac and his servants to mount Moriah. When he came at the foot of the mountain, he commanded his servant to stay there. He then took Isaac to the top of the mountain to offer him as burnt offering. God calls this sacrifice as worship. Yes, the supreme form of worship is to offer what you love most to the Lord as a sacrifice. Abraham had an opportunity to demonstrate his faith and submitted His everything to God. An offering is that which is completely surrendered to God. The Christian walk is therefore a living devotion and worship to Him. Paul also says in his epistle to Romans, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.” (Romans 12:1). We have to present ourselves and the members of our body to God as instruments of righteousness. This is the worship that pleases God. No other forms of worship will bring you closer to God. We have to place our fame, desire, wealth and everything at the altar. Heaven rejoices in this form of worship and we shall feel the presence of God in our lives. May God help us render the supreme form of worship to Him.
