I am not insignificant

God’s ways are always mysterious and His choices are beyond our wildest imagination. Time and time again, He has stamped His authority in being uniquely different from what we usually presume. That is why He says, “My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways”. The most insignificant thing in our eyes can be of great significance to Him. Isn’t He the same God who made the manger and the cross look significant!!!

We know the story of King David, when he was anointed by Prophet Samuel as the King of Israel, he was rearing his father’s sheep, and little did he know that one day he will become the greatest King of Israel. Even more dramatic was King Saul’s anointment. He was anointed by Samuel as the first King of Israel when he was searching for a lost donkey!! It’s hard to imagine, right?

1 Corinthians 1:27 says,” But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty.” God’s plans are always mysterious and different.

Saul was hesitant when he was told that he will be the king and he was right because his tribe was the smallest in Israel and his clan was little and Insignificant. But in God’s eyes he was a King. God’s plan for his life was much greater than what he thought of himself. He even hid himself in a basket to avoid his introduction ceremony!!!

So was Moses, when God chose him to lead Israel from captivity, he started telling God that he has got stammering mouth and he cant be the one to lead them. But God made him the most significant leader in the history.

Even we feel insignificant many times, in our family, at our workplace, and the circumstances around us make us feel that way. But God tells us that we are not insignificant in His sight and we are special. A mother never feels that her child is insignificant, even if the whole world say so. That is what God tries to remind us. We ourselves wouldn’t have thought that we are so much of worth but God does. He says, “I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands”.

A famous donkey said, “I’m glad that I’m an insignificant donkey, because little did I knew that I would carry the Savior of this world that day.”

1 Corinthians 2:9 says, “Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.” God has a purpose for our lives, which He alone knows!!! He wants us to understand that whatever the world may say or feel about us, we are so important in His eyes and we don’t have to feel insignificant anymore.
