Remember not the former things nor consider the things of the old, Behold I’m doing a new thing. Isaiah 43:18
A very straight forward order came from the Angel of The Lord, after the rescue of lingering lot and his family. The Angel said “Do not look back, while you are in the valley go in to the hills as Sodom and Gomorrah is being destroyed. As they were heading towards their selected destination the city of soar, Lot’s wife disobeys the command turns back. She did exactly opposite to what the Angel of The Lord said, and the Bible says she became a pillar of salt. As we meditate on this incident we find a very important lesson which we can learn from. We can compare Sodom and Gomorrah to our hurting, bad and painful past. God’s decision to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah is compared to the decision he makes to destroy completely our bad past through His son Jesus Christ, and He asks us not to look back and move forward to the place ordained for us. But many times we tend to look back and get stuck in the middle as Lot’s wife. We find it hard to move forward. God wants us to move forward when he demolishes our hurting past. We have to listen to him so as to move forward. We should not look back as God is taking care of it. He says, “Behold I’m doing a new thing.” It’s by trusting this promise, we can move forward. And that’s what God expects from us.
