For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which GOD prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10

Recently I had taken my family to the most famous Louvre Museum in France, and all of them were very much eager to see the Famous Mona Lisa painting. The place was all crowded and getting a view of the painting which was carefully and securely kept behind a bullet proof frame was not that easy. My grandmother remarked “Even the replica paintings sold outside the museum are much bigger and brighter than the original, but look at the craze to see the original one, Why all this fuss for this one”. Exactly opposite to this painting was a massive artwork, beautifully painted in the very same room, which had a lot more details than the Mona Lisa. Hardly a few people turned their eyes towards it! That is the respect given to such Master pieces as Leonardo Vinci’s Mona Lisa. My dear friends in Christ, have we ever wondered how much more worth than the Vinci’s workmanship we all are, being God’s own workmanship. Each one of us is a Master piece. No matter how insignificant we may seem, no matter how the things beside us seem greater than us we are Special. We are wonderfully and fearfully made by the Creator of the universe. The verse above is a beautiful one that conveys a lot of messages. Besides terming us as God’s workmanship it also describes beautifully the purpose of our creation. God specially designed each one of us so that we may do Good Works. We were not created to gossip, envy, display wrath or hatred. We were not created to become popular or earn money by every possible means. Rather we were created for Him. we were designed to walk in the ways He has planned for us right from the very beginning. This means, “Each one of us is not just a Master piece but also the Master’s piece.” Beloved friends in Christ, as we begin this new month that starts with celebrating the Labour’s day, may we remember that each of us is a product of God’s labour? He worked meticulously to make us, worked hard to redeem us, works tirelessly to shape us and works in ways we cannot see to deliver us. Every good gift in us is God’s workmanship in us. If that small Mona Lisa painting brings all the reputation to the Louvre Museum, how much more important and special are we? Let’s thank God as we begin this month for what we are and feel special that we are the Master pieces as well as the Master’s pieces.
