As a whole new creation
Innocent, truthful and pure
Was I born as His imitation
But could not for long endure-
Leading a life of truthful song;
‘cause I’m not so strong
To resist temptations and stopping to sin
In this materialistic world I’m living in!
Born with a purpose to please Him
In each and everything I do
I notice my life growing dim
As each step farther from Him I move
Whispering a monotonous mantra of prayer each day
But again getting back to the old wrong way
To evil paths of darkness and ways so wild
Deserve I not to be called His child!
Yet receiving all blessings, I still stay
As an unworthy piece of unmoulded clay
But that which sustains my life even now
Is only HIS unchanging love.
