Poems

The broken heart

He hung on that cruel cross

He’d given up His breath

The soldiers guarding pierced

His side, to confirm His death.

As the spear was thrust

Proved to man a precious part:

As blood and water mingled flowed,

God too had a broken heart.

When I feel hurt

For what someone’s done to me

“Why Lord?!” I in anguish cry

He says, “Come, Come and see”

“I was pierced with a spear sharp

It burst asunder my feeble heart

Just to tell you, child, like you

I too have a broken heart”.
