The peace beyond us

We are living in times when people are searching for answers for some of the tough questions they come across, with a cloud of fear gripping their minds and a sense of worry tormenting their broken hearts. The motivational speeches of great diplomats they once lauded and sought doesn’t fancy them anymore. These are days when human minds search for truth, reality and peace as everything that surrounds them look fake and unreal. For leaders peace has just become a word to fill those gaps in order to make a inspiring oratory while addressing the brokenness of the suffering mankind.

Recently, When Japan was facing the worst natural disaster as far as history could recognize in the form of earthquakes and tsunami, people from all over the world united together to reach out to them. But at the same time we see civil wars in various parts of the world induced by conflict, creating a question in our hearts, where does the balance of being human lies? The absolute truth is that we all need something more than humanity could offer to itself.

Is there anyone to answer the deepest needs of human hearts? Is there someone to give the perfect peace human mind yearn for?

About 2700 years ago prophet Isaiah gave a simple prophetic message proclaiming peace to the world in Isaiah9:6 saying, “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given and he will be called wonderful counselor, mighty god, everlasting father and prince of peace.” A prophetic word said about Jesus 700 years before He was sent to this world.

History and science have many times questioned the supremacy of Jesus over human mind and soul in giving peace. Science went a step further with all its inventions in modern medicine challenging His power of healing stating “which saved many?” But it all failed to address the greatest of all human need “peace”.

The Bible clearly portrays the authority of Jesus as the author of peace in Luke1:78,79 saying, “Through his tender mercies of God wherefore the day spring from high hath visited us to give light to them that sit in darkness and in shadow of death to guide our feet into the way of peace.”

Dear beloved there is someone who sees your wandering and broken hearts in search of peace that you are longing for. The message is simple that Jesus came to this earth to grant peace to all mankind. May be things around you is not so convincing but just accept Him and believe that He will grant you that peace amidst ruins and He will surely give you as He has promised. He gave a clear message when He left this world in John14:27 saying, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives, do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”

But with God it’s always our choice, whether to accept the peace He offers through his son Jesus Christ or to reject it!!!!
